We Believe

  • Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God, our Lord and Savior.
  • The Bible is the divinely inspired record of God's actions in history. It is trustworthy, authoritative, and all sufficient for faith and practice.
  • All have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. Jesus died to pay the price for our sins. Those who believe this are forgiven by God and enter into a new life. This is the meaning of the expression born again. To be born again means we start a new life, learning - as children do - knowing God loves us, forgives us when we make mistakes, and helps us do better.
  • Believers should be baptized by immersion. We regard believers' baptism as a symbol of death to the old life and resurrection to a new life in Christ.
  • The Lord's Supper (Holy Communion) should be celebrated in memory of the sufferings of Christ. We practice open communion and welcome all believers to participate in its celebration. Communion is observed the first Sunday of every month.
  • All Christians are called together to be a family of disciples, to witness at home and throughout the world to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Christians call all individuals, groups, institutions, and nations to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly before God.
